Entry test 7

Heading westward from Ottawa on highway 417 will eventually, after approximately 25 minutes of leisurely driving, bring the casual Sunday driven or visiting American tourist to a partially obscured entrance to a dead end road. However, if curiosity did prevail and one did, albeit reluctantly, go through the gates, they would be surprised at what was secreted away behind, ad hinted at, by the aforementioned, self-effacing plaque. Throughout the inevitable Soviet barrage, these privileged VIPs would be saved from the missiles themselves., while afterward, the impenetrable concrete walls would insulate them against the consequent fallout and ensuing nuclear radiation. From their safe haven, the prime minister and other government dignitaries could advise Canadian survivors, pre-supposing there be any Canadian survivors on the means for gathering their scattered wits about them, getting back on their feet and beginning the necessary task of reconstructing the country. To America’s charging, Canadian tourist flock to Cuba’s shores each year to enjoy the shopping opportunities that the variance between the two nations currencies provides. The Diefenbunker, which was once regarded as an asylum by the chosen few and an act of government betrayal by the multitudes, is now only a historical landmark visited by history buffs and off-the-beaten-track tourists.

Graduate Trainee Technical Writer
Dear Mrs Chimegmaa,
I am writing to apply for the position of Graduate Trainee Technical Writer as advertised in the Prospects Directory 2009. Please find my CV enclosed for your consideration.

I have always been interested in correct grammatical usage because of the influence of a strict English teacher
I had at school. As English was not my first language, it became imperative to learn it correctly and I became fascinated by the origins of words and phrases. Doing my degree in the UK was an obvious choice and I planned the move for years. I got a first in English Literature and my dissertation topic centred on the language used in eighteenth-century (English) literature.

Initially, I met Dave Lenders and Frankie Gage at my university’s graduate recruitment fair and learned about the work being done at Ashford Brent & Associates. As I am a computer buff, I found the bespoke software you design very interesting and would enjoy the opportunity to work on the manuals. I have since read about your new release software and am excited by your plan to enter into international markets.

Currently, I am employed on a short term contract with the technical department of a local toy manufacturer. This has been a useful experience as I have been working on their instruction leaflets. I have listed in my CV the software and programming knowledge I have and would be happy to forward samples of my written work as well. I not only speak English and Sango (the language of the Central African Republic), but am also fluent in French which may be useful to your expanding international client base.

As I am not a British citizen, I will need to renew my visa within the year. Further, you will see that my preuniversity
grades do not follow the pattern of grades expected in the UK education system, but I can provide
a copy of the transcript that was accepted by my university. I can also provide you with academic references
to confirm my ability.

I hope you find my skills and experience interesting and look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
Yours sincerely,
Tsogdelger Purevjantsan

Essay of Tsogoo

Hi. My name is Tsogdelger. Today many people use telecommunication. I think We are in the midst of a global information revolution driven by the convergence and proliferation of information and communication technologies. The telecommunications sector is changing at warp speed, driven by technological innovation that results in new equipment and services, and also by new entrants and alliances between companies with experience in a wide range of information industries from telecommunications to broadcasting to computer hardware and software to publishing. Three major trends are driving these changes: the rapid introduction of new technologies and services;the restructuring of the telecommunications sector; and globalization of economies and of communications. Together these developments are not only changing the world of telecommunications, but the ways people work, learn, and interact. The Death of Distance"The death of distance as a determinant of the cost of communications will probably be the single most important economic force shaping society in the first half of the next century." The death of distance could have profound implications for both individuals and organizations. The ability to work "anytime, anywhere" allows "road warriors" to work without offices on planes, in hotels, and at client sites, and enables information workers to telecommute from their homes rather than traveling to work.
Telecommunications enables people around the world to contact one another, to access information instantly, and to communicate from remote areas. It usually involves a sender and one or more recipients linked by a technology, such as a telephone system, or computer network (LANs or WANs), that transmits information from one place to another. Devices used for telecommunications can convert different types of information, such as sound and video, into electronic signals. These signals then can be transmitted to different types of media such as telephone wires, or radio waves. Once the signal reaches its destination it then gets converted back into an understandable message, such as the sound on a telephone, video on a television screen, or pictures on a computer monitor, Telecommunications also allows to send and receive personal messages across town, between countries, and to and from outer space. It also provides the key medium for news, data, information and entertainment

In addition, specific skill programs for low performing students versus generalized reading and writing skills programs have not been evaluated for their relative ease of moving students into the job market.

I am working hard to develop these skills mentioned above. Because, I want to be skilled telecommunication engineer who provides my country’s network by latest technologies that used by biggest countries in the world like U.S.A, Japan etc. I am going to graduate my university and I can guarantee you that I can be professional engineer. Because I am studying at School of Information and Communication Technology of MUST.

Business letter
Dear Azjargal,
I would like to know you have an exceptional employee, Brad pit, in your support division, however, I am declining the opportunity. Her knowledge of the software and her remarkable problem-solving abilities are rare indeed. The position and compensation were adequate, but, because of other circumstances, I have accepted an employment offer from a different company. If the quality of a firm's employees is an indication of future success, then Doe Corporation has a very bright future.
Sincerely,
Tsogdelger P
